Houston Stats
The first race in Houston took place in 1974.
This will be the 39th time the gate will drop at Houston, second only to Pontiac.
Most consecutive wins by YEAR: Jeff Ward (4) '85-'88; McGrath (3) '94-'96. Chad
Reed could join McGrath if he wins here with three consecutive wins.
Most wins by a racer at Houston: Hannah (5), McGrath (5), Barnett (5). Barnett
and Hannah swept back to back double headers for four of their five wins.
Wins by brand: Yamaha (14), Honda (9), Kawasaki (7), Suzuki (6), Can-am (2).
Last win by brands: Yamaha '04, Honda '02, Kawasaki '01, Suzuki '83.
First time winners: Tony Destifano '75 and Broc Glover '80.
History at Houston: Jimmy Ellis won on a Can-am in '75, Jeff Ward won on a Kawasaki
in '85. Jim Holly was 14th. Jeremy McGrath won on a Honda in '95.

First racer to win both the world and the domestic championships in the same year.
First racer to win the 250 sx title on three brands. (Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki)
Second Suzuki rider to ever win 250 sx title. Barnett the only other rider to
win sx title on Suzuki in '81.
RC will break Suzuki's 23-year supercross title drought.
Second rider ever to win four sx titles. Jeremy McGrath the other one.
Fifth rider ever to win the supercross title, lose it, and win it back. Ward,
R. Johnson, Stanton, and McGrath the other four.
It will be his 12th AMA National title..
3-125 mx, 4-250 sx, 5-250 mx
Chad Reed will become the 13th rider in 250cc SX history not able to win back
to back titles, and so far the 11th rider to win just one sx title.
125:
Kawasaki won its 15th 125 SX title and became the first brand to ever sweep East
and West in back to back seasons. 125 titles: Kawasaki 15, Suzuki 12, Yamaha 8,
Honda 7.
Wins by brands at Houston: Kawasaki 8, Suzuki 5, Yamaha 5, HUS 1, Honda 1. If
KTM can win in Houston, it will be a six different brand to win at a venue in
the 125 class. That will be a record.
Past 125 winners to go on to win the 250 class at Houston are Lusk and Emig. Can
Bubba join them?
