Miss Supercross Casey - Toronto
Casey Edmondson

In all my life, I never thought I would make it to Canada. Thanks to Feld Motor Sports and Monster Energy® Supercross, I was able to this past weekend. I flew up on Wednesday night, two days earlier than normal. I was a little nervous because this was my first time out of the United States. I didn’t know what to expect. I arrived at about 12:30 am because of the 3 hour time difference. The first thing I noticed when I got off the plane was the word “Exit” with a very strange looking word next to it. Being in the U.S. our dominant second language is Spanish. In Canada it was French! I guess all those years of Spanish in high school were not going to do me any good here.

The city of Toronto is gorgeous. There were huge trees everywhere and the culture was so strong. There are so many different Ethnic groups, it’s amazing. Going to dinner on Thursday night was by far the toughest decision of the trip. They have every single kind of food there you could ever imagine. I just could not hold back from all the good sushi places. Best sushi ever! There were a few other things that kind of struck me. They have what is called a luni and tuni. This would be a one and two dollar coin. When I saw a gas station, the sign read 73.8. So here I am thinking that gas is so cheap here, in reality it's 73.8 cents a Liter! You have to multiply that by 4 and there is your gas price. Yeah, they pay around $3.00 a gallon.

On Friday, I went exploring around Toronto. I found an awesome underground mall! The mall went for miles underground. I was okay with that because it was freezing outside and way to cold to walk on the streets. The mall was nice and warm inside. I bought a dozen eggs at a little market there and it was $4.78? I thought there was something wrong with the sign, but that was really the price. I think I’ll stick with the $.88 eggs here in the states.

I was sad on Saturday that I did not get to have time with the fans due to the “no pit” situation. I was really bummed out. I did, however, get to meet an amazing group of kids who raised money for sick children. These kids are heroes. They raised so much money! Not only did I get to meet them, but they also got to meet Chad Reed, Nicco Izzi and Mike Alessi. It was great to see such driven children.

The race went great!! Pourcel pulled through to win the victory and the overall East Coast Lites Championship. I was very excited for him. He just had the biggest smile on his face. In second was Stroupe and in third was (a first time podium this year) Broc Tickle! I could see how proud his girlfriend Jessica was of him. He was so excited that he even thanked his dog Edward, who was in Jessica’s hand. I couldn’t help but laugh.

The main event was something I was waiting for all week. The big question was who would pull through? If Chad won this race he would have the championship, hands down. Now the race is really on. James Stewart took the victory from Chad. However, Stewart has to keep winning in order to take the championship from Chad. Will he do it? We will find out soon! The ending podiums went: Stewart, Reed and Josh Hill. Good job to everyone. Canada was great.

Jacksonville is coming up this week. Come on out and enjoy the weather :) Don’t forget to come see me too!!
