We were hoping to evade the rain but no such luck! We were in for some of the muddiest race action since San Francisco. There were two big stories of the night. First, a big congrats to Grant Langston for capturing the West Lites Class Championship. Second, the Supercross class ended with the points tied between Reed and RC and Stewart trailing closely 5 points behind. It has been since1991 that we've had such an intense points race season taken all the way to the finals. Las Vegas is going to be a big treat for all – from everyone in the Sam Boyd Stadium to the fans watching the race live at home on Saturday night. This is something you cannot miss. The 2006 season is making big history in the sport of Supercross.

As far as the Seattle weather goes, Friday was awesome allowing for sight seeing. My family flew out to Seattle for the weekend and checked out the city and of course was there to watch the second to last round of the season. We took in the sights of Seattle and I also took some time to enjoy the shopping. I met up with my friends Donn and Jeremy and we explored the 100 year old Pike Market. The market was an interesting mix of tourists, locals, street performers and fish. The fish market was source of entertainment as we watched people place fish orders, the fish guy's would toss the fish and chant as they worked. These guys seem to truly enjoy their work. It's a sight not to be missed in Seattle.

Saturday started off cloudy, but nice. Then during practice, one o’clock hit and the rain came down. It was a downpoor that didn’t let up for five hours. I was drenched. But I did manage to stay in the pits and sign autographs for many die hard race fans who did not let the rain get in the way of enjoying the day. The Red Bull tent offered a great place to hang out with some good friends and to dry off before getting ready for the night show. We did get lucky and the rain quit in time for the opening ceremonies. But it left us with a soupy mud fest. It was a mud bath – literally. The riders were caked from head to toe in sloppy mud. And the media, track crew, announcers, and myself were spackled and our boots were caked. The rain reeked havoc on the track. It had its share of large water puddles, chunks of thick dirt, sticky mud, debris, and large ruts. The poor KTM Juniors were only able to come out for introductions. No racing for them. It would have been tough to race in the thick mud. They had a hard enough time in practice.

In the Lites class, Alessi charged to win the hole shot in his heat race and the main event. The mud didn’t seem to hinder his race until the main where in a quick turn of events he ate it in the corner. This left last weeks winner, Villopoto, to take the lead. But not long after, Villopoto’s team mate and contender for the championship, Langston, made a pass and took the lead all the way to the podium. Langston took home another Lites Championship. Short didn’t come near Langston. He had a few bobbles and a fall in the mud. We didn't get the Short-Langston battle we all wanted to see. The podium wrapped up with 1-2-3 Langston, Villopoto, and Lawrence.

In the Supercross class everyone had their predictions but as we say, anything can happen! The race action started off with intense heat races. Stewart and Reed made the crowd go wild as they sloshed through the mud and battled it out. The much anticipated main event started off with a holeshot by the hard working Nick Wey. But it didn’t take long for Stewart to take over the lead. The consistent and steady Reed held a good and close position close behind Stewart, but the number 7 was running at top speed and kept his distance ahead of Reed to take the win. RC had a troubled race with a bad start and a dash to make his way from back to mid pack then all the way to the podium for a third place finish. Preston finished with an outstanding fourth place as he rode a great race in the mud. The podium 1-2-3 Stewart, Reed, and RC – and a result of a tight points race to Vegas.

For me, I had the best of both worlds. I had the best view of each start as I was asked to do the 30 board. Then I took my spot to watch from the podium. Running back and forth from the track to the podium left my boots completely covered in mud and it was pretty cold, but it was a blast! In a way it was also bitter sweet. I have now been to every Supercross track on the circuit and we are headed to the finale! It went by so fast!

Arriving home in Lake Havasu, it was 100 degrees and pure sunshine. As much as I enjoyed Seattle, I was glad to be home in the sunshine. Vegas is going to bring the same warm, dry weather. It’s going to be totally exciting race action and don’t forget we go LIVE on SPEED! This is such a great event and milestone for Amp’d Mobile Supercross! So, if you can’t make it to the big show, make sure to catch it in your living room on TV. I am excited for the big weekend in Las Vegas. All the talk is about the points race for the Amp'd Mobile Supercross Championship and the Lites West Coast/ East Coast Shootout! It all goes down this weekend. The most exhilarating, thrilling and adrenaline rushing season we have experienced yet – 2006! Enjoy the race weekend and be safe.
See you at the races!
