Coming off a top ten at Detroit, I was looking forward to Seattle. The weather forecast was fortunately dry, and that would be unusual! The flight was incredibly long though and I was over it by the time we landed. I went to the hotel and took a much needed nap before finally turning in for the night.
Saturday morning was all sunshine, much to the relief of everyone. I went to the track hoping for a good race. Practice was decent, but the track was horrible. The dirt was really soft and rocky, leaving ruts everywhere. It was honestly the worst track I can remember in a while.
I qualified 14th, not bad but not great.
I was in heat 1, and got a horrible start. I was bouncing around in the back like a pinball and finally went down. I rode badly, even after I got off the ground. It was just a miserable heat race.
My LCQ was stacked...Voss, Millsaps, Langston were in it, just to name a few. I knew a holeshot was my only chance. Didn't happen. I started about 8th and was moving forward. I got into 5th and knew I had to take some chances. I paid the price and ended up having a stupid little crash, costing me any chance at qualifying. I rode back to the truck, dejected and pissed off honestly.
I don't know what to think of this season really. Its been really frustrating for me, my team, and everyone behind me. I have one more chance this weekend at Vegas to end it right! Wish me luck!
