JT Talks - Indianapolis
Jason Thomas

Here we go again... I thought my string of problems and bad luck was over going into Indianapolis . I had made the mains 2 weeks in a row without too much difficulty and had been riding well. I like the dirt in Indy, so things were looking up.

I had 2 good practices... my bike was good after a couple of setup changes. I had the track figured out and wasn't too far off the leaders lap times. I was 12th overall for qualifying, so I would have a good gate pick in heat 2.

I jumped out of the gate like a rocket and never saw another bike all the way to the first turn. I led in to the whoops until Bubba blew by me... and man he was going fast. I lost a couple more spots until I finally settled into 5th and then 6th. I was 6th going into the last lap when disaster struck. I made a small mistake that turned into a huge mistake. I ended up going down pretty hard and ending my chance at qualifying. I was more than a little disappointed and almost couldn't believe my crash. LCQ bound.

I had a lousy gate pick for my LCQ and it showed. I came out mid pack somewhere and was desperately trying to move up. I ended up landing on the side of someone and going down again. I headed to the truck... my night was done.

I'm not sure when this is going to get better... hopefully soon. I'm still working at it everyday, trying to get better. I'm not going to give up, it will come around. Hopefully Dallas will be the beginning of the rest of the year!
