JT Talks - San Francisco
Jason Thomas

What a week. It all started bad on Thursday when I got a call from the AMA stating that I had been disqualified from round 3 at Anaheim, CA.
My fuel was found to be out of spec, therefore I forfeited my points and much needed purse money. I was not pleased and I hope that things get reversed. I didn't do anything to deserve a penalty that harsh, but life isn't always in our control.

Nevertheless, I was hoping for a good result at San Fran. I have always ridden well here and hoped this year would again be good to me. Little did I know what God had in store for me. I qualified 7th in practice, which I was really happy with. I had been struggling lately with my lap times and it was a good turn around. I had a great pick for the heat and hoped it would help. It didn't. I clipped the back of Windham down the start straight and fell into Ryan Clark's rear wheel.
After his tire removed the skin from my arm, I scrambled to get going.

I charged back to pass who I could before the LCQ.

I got a great start in the LCQ and had I not got parked in the first turn by Saylor, I would have been winning. As it stood, I was 5th at the end of lap one. I moved up quickly into 2nd and thought everything was ok. On the last lap, Vuillemin had other ideas. He made a last ditch move in the last turn and sent me into the dirt. It wasn't a move I was happy with, since he was in the main regardless with his provisional. He didn't know the rule, so I can see his side. It didn't change much for me though, and I went from 2nd to 14th about 10 feet from the finish. I was less than pleased to be watching the main event and just wanted to start the night over. I will have to wait until Anaheim to get the finish I was looking for. Until then, thanks for reading JT $
