Farber Asks - Who is going to win the Dave Coombs Sr. Memorial East-West Shootout in Las Vegas this weekend? - 5.1.07

QUESTION:

We’re back in Seattle for the 15th round of the Amp’d Mobile Supercross series. Ryan Villopoto has already wrapped up the Western Region Lites Championship with one round to go. Last week, his teammate, Ben Townley won the Eastern Region Lites Championship.

Every year in Las Vegas it seems like the favorite never comes out as the winner. They either get a bad start or crash out of the race. So, there’s only one question to ask. Who is going to win the Dave Coombs Sr. Memorial East-West Shootout in Las Vegas this weekend?

“I look for Josh Hill to come out as the winner. Before the series moved East, Josh started to come into his own and he even got his first podium.”

“I’m going with Ryan Dungey. He did win three races this year and a few mistakes cost him the championship but he has something to prove.”

“It is a hard packed track, slippery, and I think the West Coast guys have the advantage. So, I’m going with Ryan Villopoto.”

“Ryan Villopoto is going to win the Shootout this year. I know in the past that favorite never wins but the kid is on top of his game right now.”

“I’m going with Ryan Villopoto because no one can catch the kid right now.”

“I would like to see Darcy Lange win it because he’s a good friend of mine. But if I had to put money down on it then I would have to go with Villopoto.”

“I really think I will have to give that one to Ryan Villopoto. He has shown speed and consistency.”

“The track is going to be hard packed and for some reason you can never predict the rider for this race. But I’m with Josh Grant because it will be the last supercross of the season and he has something to prove.”
