“Ricky Carmichael has decided to race the first four rounds of the 2007 Amp’d Mobile World Supercross series next year. Then, it’s off to testing his racecar at select venues on the NASCAR circuit. Some people have mixed feelings about RC racing selective events because a lot of us think he could win another championship. I caught up with some of my friends around the industry to get their thoughts on RC’s decision."

“I would like to see him race one series or the other and go for a title. But I can see his point too. The guy is still really fast and if he wanted to, he could win another title next year.”

“I think it’s good to have him come back for a few SX’s because he still has a lot of fans who would still like to see him. Plus, he puts on a good show.”

“Obviously RC has done everything he feels that he’s needed to do in his career. But I think it’s good to see him comeback when he wants to. When he comes back for those few races next year, I will guarantee you that he will give 100%.”

“I have mixed feelings about it! I’m a big RC fan and I would have liked to see him out there every weekend. I do think it’s cool to see him take on some new adventures in NASCAR.”

“I think it’s pretty cool that he’s going to do some selective races and also pursue a career in NASCAR next year. I’m just glad he’s going to do the first two rounds in the U.S. so I can watch him ride a few more times before he retires.”

“I would rather see him race the whole series but I think it will be good for the fans to see him at a few of the races. It will be just like Jeremy McGrath did this year and it will make for good racing.”

“It’s going to make it very interesting in Canada and the first few rounds next year. If he wins the first few rounds, what’s he going to do? I’d like to see him race another year because there was some good racing this year but it’s his decision.”

“I totally understand that he wants to move on to another sport but it’s still good for us to have him around for a few rounds next year."
