QUESTION:
“The Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open made some serious format changes for 2006. With the addition of the Toyota Trucks Trifecta there is an opportunity for one rider to come away with $250,000 in cash. Just what is the Trifecta? T he three part Toyota Trucks Trifecta bonus program will pay additional money to the fastest qualifier for each night's event, a bonus to each night's holeshot winner and a bonus for any rider that can complete the Toyota Trucks Trifecta challenge by being the fastest qualifier, getting the holeshot and winning the main event. Any rider that hits the Toyota Trucks Trifecta will earn a $50,000 bonus each night in addition to the regular event purse and any rider that can "Double Down" and hit the Toyota Trucks Trifecta both nights will walk away with $250,000 for the weekend. Let’s see what some of the riders and industry think of this new program."

“I think it’s really good to see the sport grow to that level and that the money is on par with other sports. Maybe not like golf, but with some of the other racecar series.’ It’s going to add a little more intensity to the heat races and such. I think the way they have it tied in with the starts is going to make it much tougher but it will be interesting.”
|
“It’s really good that they’re stepping up the sponsorship that way and for Live Nation thinking of a payout like this. For me, it will be a long shot to get the Trifecta but I’m all about getting those holeshots and some extra money. I do think it’s really cool that some of us have a chance to go after some of that money too. One more thing, it will be good for the fans to because the heat races are going to have some good racing.” |

“It’s cool but it’s going to be tough! That’s a lot of things that have to line up for you. To me, I just want to win the race but if it works out, it will be a nice bonus.”
|
“It’s a good deal (and a lot of money) but I think there’s only a couple of riders that can achieve it! But you never know about Vegas. Byner got second last year so you can’t count him out and it will be exciting going after the Trifecta.”

“Normally it would be a 12,000,000 to 1 shot because realistically there’s only two guys who could achieve it. But it will be fun sitting there and watching to see what happens.”
|
“It’s going to be good because guys are going to be running it deep in the first turn. With James and Ricky both racing the U.S. Open it’s going to be all about the starts.”

“Anyone can holeshot but the fastest lap time is going to be interesting. It will also be interesting to see if Bubba or RC can pull it off.”
|
“I think Live Nation has done a good job with this and I’m glad I have an opportunity to go after that much money. It will definitely give me some motivation for the U.S. Open and I think it will be a good show for the fans.”
