QUESTION:

Many industry insiders dub this year as having been the best supercross season ever! Chad Reed only has two wins so far compared to Stewart’s (7) and RC’s (6). Let’s see if some of the industry thinks he’s been lucky or smart to be in the championship hunt? "

COMMENTARY:

“Well, I think he’s a hero because he rode with that injured shoulder and didn’t throw his arms up and give up. He got the points he needed and that’s why he’s in the postion to win this championship.”

“I think Chad Reed is all heart but you can’t take anything away from James and Ricky. Since Dallas, he has really stepped up his game and has shown that anyone can win in this game. If he does win, he definitely deserves it.”

“I don’t think it’s either smart or lucky if Chad Reed wins the championship. I think it’s one of those things. It's what it is. Supercross isn’t something that is defined. It’s the law of averages and at the end of the day they look like they're working in his favor.”

“I think with the injuries he has had with his shoulder then he’s lucky. The guys tough and I have a lot of respect for him.”

“He rode with an injured shoulder and still got second at Daytona. Part of being a champion is to be smart, consistent, and put yourself in a postion to win a championship.”

“He’s smart because he was lucky. You have to be both because you have to be smart to be in positon and you have to have a little luck to pull it off.”

“I think he’s very smart! He a consistent rider and you can never count him out.”

“I think it’s a little bit of luck but a lot of smart because he’s ridden well all year. He also gutted out his shoulder problem and he could have thrown in the towel. I’m pulling for him.”
