QUESTION:

There has always been a two-week break in the Amp’d Mobile Supercross schedule but this year they fell in a row. If you are a mechanic, bus driver, or a rider, you have been on the road for 13 weeks straight! Let’s see what these guys did on their two week break… "

“I did a lot of outdoor testing because I haven’t ridden any outdoors since Glen Helen. It’s hard because everyone rides both series’ and we start testing supercross at the end of September. So, we have until December to get ready for supercross but for the outdoors you only have a couple of weeks to get ready. But I did have a chance to go to the beach and hang out with my wife, Nicole. It was nice not having to travel.”

“We did have two weeks off but we have been doing a lot of outdoor testing. So, it has consumed a lot of that time but I did get a chance to go riding. It’s good to be back because I did miss coming to the races.”

“I helped my dad a little bit with our family business and I went trout fishing. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to do any riding. But it was nice having two weekends off because I got to see my family, do some fishing, and just chilled out!”

“I was sleeping for two weeks straight (Laughs)! Really, I was getting the banquet plans together and working on Vegas. But I did get some sleep on those weekends that I really needed.”

“We did some outdoor and supercross testing with Ivan Tedesco because it’s his first year on a Suzuki. We had the first weekend off and it was nice but the second weekend I didn’t know what to do with myself. I felt like I had been away from the races for like a year. We have such a busy schedule and when you get two weekends off, it’s kind of strange.”

“We did a lot of outdoor testing but it was nice having two weekends off. It was cool being able to sleep in on those weekends. No bikes to work on and no continental breakfasts!”

“I went to California to take care of some things for Monster and I had a chance to work- out a little bit. It was also nice having those weekends off because I feel refreshed! Sometimes when your on the road so much you start getting burnt out!”

“It was good because we got to do a lot of outdoor testing during the week. Then some of my friends and I went to Glamis and did some riding. It was a lot of fun because we got to ride and we didn’t have to work on the bikes.”

Wes “Toast” Corbett - Bus driver for Monster Energy drink Mike Williamson - Michael Byrne’s mechanic

“I live in Northeast Ohio , so I went home and enjoyed life a little bit. It was really nice to go home for an extended time period. I hung out with GNCC regular Jimmy Jarrett and we went riding a good bit, and I got to do some bicycling.”
