QUESTION: Who do you think will win the Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP series?

COMMENTARY:

“My bet is that Ricky’s going to win the championship but James is going to win more races. I mean, Bubba’s so fast right now but I think he will have one big get-off. And those points will cost him the championship. Obviously, James has matured but I still think he’s going to make that one mistake.”

“Well, Bubba obviously looked very impressive last week. But it’s hard to bet against Ricky. I bet against him last year and I lost my ass, to be honest. I have to go with Ricky because it’s an 18 race series. Like he said on the box last week, “as long as I’m up here every week, that’s all that matters.” In an 18 race series, Ricky’s proven to be a champion. I would like to see it go down to the last race, last turn. But it’s hard to bet against # 4.”

“You have to look at the World Supercross Championship as 17 rounds. If I was a betting man, I would have to go with Ricky Carmichael. He been there and he’s done it! His goal is to be there in Las Vegas. You look at a guy like Chad Reed. He’s also won the World Championship. But he’s making a change and he’s riding a four-stroke. After seeing him in Toronto riding the four-stroke and then after seeing him today, he’s definitely stepped up his game from last week. Then, there’s James Stewart and he proved to everybody last week that he’s ready. A lot of people had doubts in there minds and he was coming off a season in 2005 that he probably wants to forget. But after he came to Toronto last week, won that supercross, and after not racing in racing months, that’s incredible! I’m sure he’s going to win a lot of races but I don’t know if he’ll be there for the championship. So, I have to give the nod to RC.”

“I don’t really care (laughs). I just want to see good racing like last week. If I had to put my money on someone; how do you bet against Ricky? Of course, James is faster at times and should win. But I have more confidence in Ricky for the long-haul, period.”

“It’s going to be a close series between Bubba, Chad, and Ricky. It’s a 18 race series and you’re going to see Ricky come out on top. Mainly, because of his experience, determination, and he’s also been in the championship hunt before.”

“With all the top-contenders switching to four-strokes, I think the door is open for an old-school rider on a two-stroke to bust through and win a championship. While the other riders are adjusting to there new machines, my pick will be Barry Carsten. Back in the top 100 with #84, looked strong in Toronto, and almost made the Main event. It’s a long season and just because he didn’t make the main in Toronto, doesn’t mean he won’t be there in Las Vegas.”

“Well, after watching Ricky during the World Supercross Series last year and seeing his dedication to the series. I know he’s very focused this year and I defiantly think he is the prime candidate to win the World Supercross series.”

“I would have to say Ricky Carmichael, mainly because of his determination and consistency. He’s shown through the years that he has what it takes and he’ll do whatever it takes to win.”
